Day Wise Detail Itinerary

Day 1
ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI -- You would be assisted on arrival at the airport/railway station and transferred to your hotel. After lunch, indulge yourself in sightseeing in and around Guwahati. In the evening, you would be taken for a boat cruise on the Brahmaputra (subject to flood condition) and spot river dolphins in the water. Night halt at Guwahati.

Day 2
GUWAHATI TO KAZIRANGA -- Visit the Kamakhya Temple, the Bhubaneswari Temple, the Umananda Temple (smallest river island), the Sankerdev Kalashetra, Balaji Temple and the Vasistha Temple in the morning. After lunch, proceed to Kaziranga National Park (220 kms / 05 hrs) - a World Heritage Site and Tiger reserve, which is home to more than 80% of the world’s population of the Great One Horned Rhinoceros. It has a significant population of Asian Elephant and Water Buffalos living here. It has a wide variety of fauna and avifauna in a unique habitat of mainly grasslands, close tangled and thorny rattan cane, elephant grass and tall trees of evergreen forest and numerous water bodies. More than 400 species of birds both resident and migratory are found here. Evening free at leisure.

Day 3
KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK -- Start early morning for an Elephant ride in the Central range of the Park followed by a Jeep safari in the same range: The Central range is good for water birds such as Falcate Teal, White-eyed Pochard, Grey headed Fishing Eagle, Crested Serpent Eagle and Spot-billed Pelican. Bengal Florican can also be seen in this range. After lunch Jeep Safari in the Western range: ideal for grassland birds and big game like Rhinos and Water buffaloes. Overnight at Kaziranga.

Day 4
KAZIRANGA TO SHILLONG -- After an early morning breakfast drive to Shillong (280 kms 6 hrs drive). Have Lunch en-route at Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Check in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit the local market. Stay Overnight at your hotel in Shillong.

Day 5
SHILLONG LOCAL SIGHTSEEINGS -- Morning sightseeing at Shillong, visit Ward Lake and Hydari Park. Admire the beauty of Shillong, also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam and present Northeast and home to the Khasi highland tribes.

Day 6
SHILLONG TO CHERRAPUNJEE -- After Breakfast, set off for Cherrapunji, the place that receives the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is locally and officially also known as Sohra. It is situated at a distance of 56 kms(3hrs) from Shillong. It is a “must see” destination for all tourists. The average rainfall is about 12,000 mm a year and the record for a single day was 2455 mm recorded in 1974 confirming it as the “Wettest place on Earth”. On the way, visit the Duwanshing Syiem View Point, Ramakrishna Mission, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sister Falls, Eco. Park, Bangladesh Border, etc

Day 7
LIVING ROOT BRIDGE AND BACK TO SHILLONG -- After breakfast, trek to the Living Root Bridge. The trek normally takes two hours. The route is replete with small village where one can relax and explore rural life. This amazing bridge is a two-tier living Root Bridge (made of the roots of a living tree), connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. The two tiers measure 59ft and 83 ft in length respectively. The trek to this double decker is tough but worth the pains. Transfer to Shillong. On the way, see Mawsynram as well as the Mawsmai cave. Overnight at Shillong.

Day 8
DAOKI AND MAWLYNNONG VILLAGE -- Visit Daoki (Bangladesh Border) and the Mawlynnong village. Mawlynnong Village has earned the distinction of being the cleanest village in India. It is situated 90 kms. from Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock

Day 9
DEPARTURE FROM GUWAHATI -- Proceed to Guwahati after Breakfast. Day will be free till the time of departure from Guwahati airport/railway station. Tour ends with sweet memories.
